Job Description:

The Education Programs Manager is responsible for all day-to-day organizational, financial and clerical operations of the Festival Education Department. The Education Programs Manager serves as registrar for all education classes, productions and workshops and provides operational assistance with scheduling, financial accountability, data collection, hiring and organizing for these activities. The Education Programs Manager assists the Education Director in all operational and programming matters relating to the professional operation of the department.

Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Have a working knowledge of all Festival education programming

2. Maintain records and contact information for all school and education groups within the Intermountain West from which to build and strengthen existing USF education programs (through Audience View)

3. Record and process registration/payments for all education camps, workshops, and classes, the Shakespeare-in-the-Schools touring production(s), the USF/SUU Shakespeare Competition, the Wooden "O" Symposium, and Playmakers productions and other activities and programs as assigned by the Education Director

4. Organize all details of summer classes/camps and provide administrative support to class chaperones, instructors and students as needed

5. Support Shakespeare-in-the Schools Tour booking coordinator in organizing and scheduling the Festival educational touring production(s)

6. Work with SUU to schedule all activities related to the annual Shakespeare Competition, Wooden O Symposium, Shakespeare Studies Center and educational workshops, seminars and classes

7. Schedule, organize, and oversee annual "Bard's Birthday Bash" and other elementary programming

8. Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state curricular standards and policies

9. Schedule and supervise Backstage Tour guides

10. Supervise Camp Coordinators and chaperones; manage communications with students, parents and instructors

11. Facilitate the processing of all course proposals, registrations and bookings for each Festival program

12. Facilitate the creation of programming that serves the curricular, administrative, educational and artistic initiatives of the Festival


13. Record and process all revenue and expense for educational programming including the Educational Tour, Camps, Classes and Workshops, The Shakespeare Competition, Playmakers Productions, and the Wooden O Symposium

14. Maintain accounting records for all Festival Education department expenses and revenues

15. Prepare financial reports as needed and maintain data for grants, including critical evaluation and assessment and records

16. Submit receipts through Festival V-Card System for all credit card purchases and work closely with the Festival business manager on purchase orders and other transaction processes in compliance with SUU purchasing, payroll and expense processes


17. Coordinate with the SUU College of Professional Studies, SUU College of Performing and Visual Arts, SUU Registrar's office in all academic related activities (i.e., process course proposals, student registration and academic credit procedures)

18. Serve as a clerical lead in preparation of documents for record keeping, reports, grants, contract agreements and all general correspondence

19. Gather and utilize data from all programming for assessment in grant/development reporting

20. Assist with all Festival Education department bulk mailings and special campaigns

21. Oversee and direct all education telephone and email communications

22. Update job description and education process manuals annually

23. Other duties as assigned by Education Director
