POSITION OVERVIEW

The Festival Coordinator, Technical Production is charged with coordinating technical production logistics for the Sundance Film Festival.  

Working closely under the direction of the Manager, Onsite Technical Production, the Festival Coordinator, Technical Production supports technical production needs for the Sundance Film Festival, contributing to its overall success. 

This full-time, temporary position is based out of our Park City, Utah office from Monday, October 18, 2021 through Friday, February 11, 2022 with regular opportunities to work from home. This role will be required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned.

 Top priorities include but are not limited to…

  • Documenting build-outs and installations with photos, drawings, and notes.
  • Creating a schedule and assisting in the build of temporary venues onsite based on outlined specifications. 
  • Assisting with event production and logistics related to audio or video production, lighting, staging, and live streaming from pre-production through execution.
  • Coordinating with the Manager to help track event production budgets.
  • Managing hardware inventory to support events.
  • Communicating effectively with vendors, partners, company executives, and a wide range of stakeholders to solidify timelines and deadlines.
  • Participating in final walkthroughs and inspections, and conducting follow-throughs to ensure build-out specifications are met and legal codes compliance. 
  • Updating and maintaining the department timeline document. 
  • Supporting special projects for the team, as directed. 
  • Traveling to various theatres, venues, temporary structures to support onsite execution.
  • Completing a comprehensive written wrap report, as directed.

 You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of DMV background check. 
  • 2 years experience in an event production, operations, or related technical role.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with a variety of people. 
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to self-manage a work schedule.
  • A high level of mobility and ability to move and lift items that weigh 50-75 lbs chest high. 
  • Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Microsoft and Google Products preferred.
