Who We’re Looking For

Financial Operations Analyst – Salt Lake City, UT

The responsibilities of the Financial Operations Analyst include oversight and preparation of operational and management reporting, profitability analysis, process analysis, trend analysis, and ad hoc analysis to support management decision-making for new initiatives and process improvement projects.

This role will support the Director of Finance & Business Efficiency in preparing, analyzing and reviewing a variety of sophisticated financial and operational data. They will assist in the execution of the Business Efficiency improvement initiatives and objectives. They will support new and highly significant enterprise initiatives and valuation of Business Development opportunities.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in finance, or other quantitative business field, have a good understanding of overall business operations and will enjoy working on very complex and critical projects.

Breaking Down Your Day to Day

  • Financial modeling – Prepare comprehensive financial models with a coordinated set of financial statements, assumptions (such as revenue, margins and working capital requirements) and metrics. Analyze past results and future outcomes in conjunction with market analyses to develop recommendations for changes in model assumptions. Perform sensitivity analyses to assess a reasonable range of outcomes.
  • Financial analysis – Present analyses evaluating the feasibility and performance of initiatives. Analysis and communication of results of Operational tests and financial impacts to the business. Trends will be identified, often by detailed data analysis. The expectation for this individual is to eventually provide Financial analysis insight outside of what is specifically requested from this individual. The financial analysis also encompasses using tools to quickly access data and present meaningful, concise information.
  • Business analysis – Prepare executive summaries for topics such as market analyses, macroeconomic conditions, and financial metrics. These types of analyses require an ongoing understanding of key markets, competition, and economic conditions. They also require an understanding of how these factors affect various aspects throughout the business, as well as our relative position in markets. Identifying and conveying key influences on our businesses and trends is encouraged.
  • Process Improvement – Continuously develop systems and processes, and provide analytics insights to process performance to identify areas of opportunity. Evaluate current processes, identify standard methodologies, develop plans to reach goals and implement improvements.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration – Interacting cross-functionally with project leads across Partner Strategy/Account Management, Marketing, and Sales.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, statistics, economics or other related business or quantitative analysis fields
  • Advanced Excel skills required. Proficiency in SQL strongly preferred
  • 1-3 years demonstrated ability in FP&A or other business quantitative related roles
  • Excellent eye for business and ability to relay objectives and translate data to partners within the organization
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams and communicate effectively
  • Strong sense of drive, grit, and capacity to show initiative when pursuing strategic objectives
