We are implementing this vision by migrating our on-premises hardware to the cloud and following the best practices of both the cloud providers and bank regulators. 

Job Summary

The Systems Engineer manages the daily operations and security administration functions for WebBank. These responsibilities include system administration tasks to ensure WebBank is fully operational and secure. In addition, the Systems Engineer also analyzes and resolves end user hardware and software computer problems and assists with the long-term strategic management of WebBank technology infrastructure.   This role reports to the SVP of Technology Enablement. 

Primary Responsibilities (Job Duties)

  • Review server logs for abnormalities and clear errors as appropriate
  • Periodically review network users list to ensure that only authorized users have access
  • Perform access validation to ensure all users are active members of the WebBank team or vendor
  • Ensure daily backups are performed for business continuity purposes
  • Perform regularly scheduled testing of disaster recovery procedures
  • Conduct regular maintenance on internal infrastructure including servers, routers, and laptop devices
  • Assist employees with computer/software issues
  • Actively work on incoming helpdesk tickets to resolve operational issues as they arise
  • Manage our end point protection solution and ensure incidents are managed timely
  • Ensure network systems are configured correctly and functioning properly
  • Look for technical process improvements for end users which includes evaluating new products and capabilities to maintain our environment
  • Manage relationships with Third-Party vendors to ensure all outsourced IT functions are managed appropriately and according to contract
  • Maintain the core banking system to ensure optimal performance is achieved
  • Review system enhancement proposals from outsources partners to ensure compatibility with our existing environment
  • Support the asset maintenance and manage replacement schedule for hardware and software
  • Provide necessary documentation and make necessary changes in accordance with interactions from auditors

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of IT experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of server and PC operating systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding initiative, attention to detail and organizational skills required.
  • Superior analytical skills to determine areas of improvement
  • Ability to recognize and focus on critical issues.
  • Ability to conduct and direct research in IT issues and products as required.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • AWS Certification(s)
