Manager, Nurse Case Manager
The claims medical management department has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as a manager, medical case management. This posting is open to internal and external candidates.
The manager, medical case management provides leadership for the development and daily operations of a team of nurse case managers. This person ensures appropriate delivery and oversight of case management services in all WCF geographies. The person in this position maintains claim-referral triage and coordinates case management referrals to outside agencies. The manager, medical case management coordinates nursing and other professional in-house education. This person serves as a medical resource to internal contacts and maintains strong professional working relationships. The manager, medical case management maintains the quality-assurance program for their team, and reviews catastrophic claims.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent experience.
Graduate of an accredited RN program and current Utah RN license.
At least one national certification, CCM or CRRN, or other as approved.
At least three years' clinical experience, nurse case management experience, and senior supervisory experience.
At least three years of experience in critical care, rehabilitation, orthopedics, home health, community health, or occupational health.
Thorough knowledge of workers' compensation coverage.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and computer-systems skills.
Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and management skills.
