SUMMARY OF POSITION:  The HR Generalist works to make connections with people, motivate others and inspire them to achieve results. This position requires a strong initiative and self-direction. OWCAP is looking for an extroverted, warm and enthusiastic individual who can communicate well with others. Perform Human Resources activities to help foster an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and goal attainment.  Recruit and nurture ongoing development of a superior workforce. This position carries responsibilities in the following functional areas: staff recruitment, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy and systems development and implementation, affirmative action and employment law compliance as well as laws or regulations dictated by funding sources including the National Community Action Partnership Standards and Head Start Performance Standards.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of rules, procedures, or operations which apply to the Human Resources Department
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and supervise volunteers
  • Skilled in Word, Excel, Outlook and other software packages
  •  Multi-line phone systems
  • Knowledge in creating, developing and maintain a strong policy development.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources, PHR or SHRM certification recognized
Salary Range:             $18.33 - $23.21
