POSITION OVERVIEW

 

The Quality Assurance Lead is charged with defining testing strategies to ensure the website, platform, and product deliverables are being released with industry and Sundance standards. The Quality Assurance Lead will create test plans, update and develop current development testing processes, and raise concerns over projected timelines in order to successfully meet the requirements deadlines. This position may oversee internal year-round Quality Assurance Testers as well as any contract Quality Assurance Tester employees.
 

Working closely under the direction of the Senior Manager, Business Analyst, the Quality Assurance Lead will be on the forefront of all testing processes throughout Sundance Institute’s digital platform overseeing, managing, and planning test strategies through best practices. 

 

This full-time position works remotely and extended hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends at key points throughout the year. Travel to other Institute offices and events will not be required for this position.
 

Top priorities include but are not limited to…

  • Developing and leading the quality assurance (QA) strategies for Sundance Institute’s digital efforts.

  • Working closely with all stakeholders and department team members to develop, execute, and manage QA plans.

  • Overseeing test phase and cycle, including functional system testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.

  • Proactively assessing and advising on product specs to identify qualifications and what testing is needed to ensure success, maintaining documentation and deliverables associated with QA.

  • Certifying versions are tested and ready to move into production.

  • Building collaborative relationships with all peers in engineering, operations, product management, and business operations.

  • Managing staff, including selecting and training highly effective staff, providing direction, feedback, and support to ensure employees understand responsibilities and are effective in their roles while delegating appropriate and meaningful work.

  • Assisting team leads with other duties as assigned that are aligned with current projects.

 

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States. 

  • A technical degree in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, or related technical degree.

  • 4 yrs of experience in the QA Testing field. An equivalent amount of education or experience will be considered.

  • A minimum of 2 years of testing experience with a significant focus being on large software implementation projects.

  • Leadership skills to effectively manage a team.

  • Proven experience developing test cases and test plans.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Passion to maintain a high degree of quality.

  • In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies.

  • Experience testing user interfaces and client-server applications running in web browsers, mobile apps, or embedded devices.

  • Knowledge of Android, iOS, HTML, OS X, and Windows preferred.

  • Experience with a variety of automation approaches and tools preferred.

  • Experience delivering test automation for mobile devices, desktop and laptop computers, gaming consoles, smart televisions, and other consumer entertainment devices preferred.
