Who We're Looking For - Data Analyst (Outreach/Digital PR)

The Data Analyst role assists the Digital PR team in the production of data-centric, promotional content pieces. This role sits right at the intersection of data science, digital PR, and brand journalism. With the help of a Digital PR Specialist, you will be responsible for ideating, researching, compiling, organizing, and making sense of data, which will then be used to create public interest pieces. These data visualizations (infographics, maps, interactive graphics, etc.) will be pitched to journalists and publications in varying industries with the end goal of driving organic traffic, referral traffic, and brand awareness for any given web property.

What You'll Do

  • Utilize our own proprietary data as well as scrape, submit records requests, or compile data sets from scratch to help the copywriters and Digital PR Specialists tell clear, compelling visual stories
  • Takes initiative on finding and accessing new raw data sets
  • Transform raw data sets into compelling stories and help designers create meaningful visual illustrations to accompany those stories
  • Partner with data science, digital PR, and brand journalism
  • Build and maintain dashboards, partnering with Clearlink’s marketing teams when needed
  • Share knowledge and experience across the Analytics and Outreach teams through presentations, individual training, and leading team training
  • Keep up with industry, research, and vertical trends and standard methodologies

What You Need

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, and Excel (or Google Docs equivalent)
  • Strong SQL, R, Python, or equivalent data analysis technology
  • Ability to influence and advance projects in a multi-functional, matrixed environment
  • Organized with an eye for detail
  • Ability to use BI tools such as Looker, Google Data Studio, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Familiarity with web APIs
  • Up-to-date knowledge of trends in content marketing.
  • Understanding of data visualization standard methodologies
  • Preferred but not required: Digital production and development experience including working with the Adobe Creative Suite, Javascript, including familiarity with the most common statistical and data visualization libraries. Basic understanding of statistical methods and predictive analytics. Experience with HTML5,CSS and Javascript. Familiarity with Buzzstream and Buzzsumo. Understanding of news media.
