Festival Coordinator, Marketing (Promotion/Advertising)

The Festival Coordinator, Marketing (Promotion/Advertising) is charged with providing project management support and coordination duties to contribute to marketing initiatives promoting the Sundance Film Festival. 

Working closely under the direction of the Associate Marketing Director supports Sundance Institute’s commitment to reach and welcome new audiences to join us in celebrating independent storytelling at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.

This full-time, temporary position is based in our Park City, Utah office, from October 4, 2021 to February 1, 2022, and will be required to work extended hours, including some evenings and weekends to meet deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned.


Top priorities include but are not limited to…

  • Festival advertising and promotion, including serving as a key point of contact for media outlets.

  • Trafficking digital and print ads for external publications by deadline, executing contracts with Associate Director approval, tracking metrics and media clippings, and facilitating invoicing.

  • Managing catalog deliverables, working with the Publications Manager, liaising with the Corporate Sponsorship team and external contacts to collect Festival catalog ads, and updating and executing the publication distribution plan, including ensuring publications are delivered on time.

  • Creating and maintaining timelines for advertising and other marketing assets to support the 2022 Festival.

  • Coordinating projects, including routing edits, obtaining approvals from Marketing leadership as well as internal constituents, negotiating schedule changes, and progressing projects to the next stage in the process.

  • Gathering assets for design and web team as directed. 

  • Tracking and updating the Festival Advertising budgets, including reviewing invoices for accuracy, approvals, and submitting to the Budget Manager for payment.

  • Writing a comprehensive post-Festival wrap report as directed.


You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States. 

  • 2 years marketing or related experience.

  • Experience in advertising and media planning project management preferred. 

  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with a variety of people. 

  • Detail oriented, with the ability to audit work to avoid mistakes, and perform tasks accurately.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize. 

  • Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Google Products.
