Who We’re Looking For – Content Manager

The Content Manager on the Brand Development Team is responsible for developing and implementing a full-funnel content marketing strategy for new consumer brands at Clearlink, assisting with a smooth transition of that brand to a dedicated team, and continually improving this process over time.

This role is responsible for defining metrics of success, then managing the creation and publication of a variety of high-quality, helpful, web-based content types designed to acquire, retain, and convert new audiences. These content types will include, but are not limited to, editorial content, email, social media, and video.

Success in this role will require a self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and inquisitive nature. A successful Content Manager will be able to learn about new industries, assess the needs of customers in those industries, and create content-based, business-aligned strategies.

To facilitate content production, this role will determine workflow frameworks and hire and manage a pool of freelance contributors with subject-matter expertise to build audiences. This role will be responsible for overseeing content quality, reviewing and approving content created internally and by freelance contributors, and publishing it on the various channels designated in their content strategy.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years marketing experience with a focus on content marketing across multiple channels
  • Writing experience with articles, email, and social media
  • Experience with WordPress, Facebook, and Youtube publishing platforms

What You’ll Do

Create and document content strategies for new brands with defined success metrics, conversion funnels, and dependencies. (30%)

  • Utilizing market analysis, business plan, and defined monetization paths, develop a content strategy that aligns with our targeted audience needs
  • Create a content map that demonstrates the relationship between all channels, content types, and dependencies
  • Using wireframing or flowchart tools, build IA and initial site or channel maps
  • Document each individual content type, traffic acquisition, KPI’s, user path, and editorial requirements

Seek out, vet, hire, and manage a pool of freelance contributors with subject matter expertise in the new industries we are targeting to create the initial content. (30%)

  • Determine high-level content needs of current and future brand initiatives
  • Work with recruiting, or through freelance channels to find, recruit, and onboard contributors
  • Assign, receive, and provide feedback on freelance content
  • Manage invoicing and payment of freelancers through Accounts Payable

Publish initial content on new web properties as brands are established. (30%)

  • Assist in writing shorter content when needed
  • Become an expert in our CMS
  • Publish freelance content on designated channels
  • Coordinate with our design group to find and source imagery.
  • QA published content
  • Report on initial metrics

Assist in onboarding and hand-off of new brands to a dedicated team. (10%)

  • Assist in training of a new team, presenting content strategy, publishing process, etc.
