As the Outreach & Internal Communications Intern, this position will support the work of the Marketing & Communications Manager in communications, design, program support, and event promotion. As part of the Development team at YWCA Utah, this position will get hands on experience in supporting the communications needs of a large organization focused on assisting the community through domestic violence services, women’s leadership programming, and race equity initiatives, through community outreach and internal support. This position is an academic year internship (August 2021 – April 2022). The ideal candidate should be passionate about the mission of YWCA Utah and eager to learn more about non-profit communications, particularly in the fields of gender equity, race equity, and social justice. Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit for long periods of time; use computer to enter data; use telephone to converse with customers and employees; walk and stand for long periods of time; perform repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement. Travel to attend conferences, training, outreach and other events occurs routinely.
