What you’ll need to be our Nutrition Services Worker: 

  • Organized, dependable, and attentive to detail in a structured, routine-based environment.
  • Unselfish and approachable with a preference for detailed, skill-based work.
  • Hold a high school diploma (or equivalent) and have at least one year of food service or. cooking experience.
  • Ability to maintain strict sanitation, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness standards at all times.
  • Current food handler’s permit, or must be able to obtain.
  • Valid Utah Driver’s License, or must be able to obtain one.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

What you’ll do as our Kitchen Support Staff:
  • Provide food service, including cooking and preparation, following USDA Regulations and the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
  • Set up dish area, sweep and mop floors, wash dishes, glassware, and pans, empty trash and clean receptacles, keep area clean, maintain proper sanitation at all times, set up and break down all equipment used.
  • Inventory and inspect kitchen facilities, equipment and supplies.
  • Make food deliveries off-site. Maintain proper temperatures and time frames when delivering off-site.
  • Communicate and coordinate with OWCAP staff to assist in ensuring quality nutrition services, including field trip requests.
  • Acquire knowledge and implement policies as they pertain to federal, state and local regulations.
  • Attend assigned meetings and trainings.
